Shari Harpaz, SLP
About me
Shari Harpaz, has been in private practice in New York City for 25+ years, providing speech-language therapy to children with speech, language and social skills delays. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University (Psychology) and Masters in Speech-Language Pathology from Teachers College, Columbia University. Shari has taught graduate students Assessment and Diagnostic Skills and supervised graduate students clinical hours. In addition, Shari conducts teacher, graduate student, and parent workshops about facilitating speech and language development in the home and classroom.
The practice uses a child centered and team approach to help a child maximize their potential. Shari works closely with parents, caregivers, teachers, and other specialists to coordinate goals and ensure that the child is receiving the best possible therapy. Shari conducts comprehensive evaluations to assess then develop a treatment plan. Therapy addresses a variety of receptive and expressive language deficits, language processing disorders, social/play skill delays, articulation disorders and reading difficulties. She specializes in Auditory processing disorders and verbal dyspraxia. Shari is trained in PROMPT (apraxia cueing method), Orton Guillingham reading method, Visualize and Verbalize, and many other techniques.

Over the years, Shari has expanded her practice and has highly skilled, experienced therapists that work for the practice and carry on her mission to help as many children as possible. The most recent expansion is opening a second office in Ridgewood, NJ.
Sessions are conducted in a variety of locations: office setting, home setting, classrooms, and/or virtual (zoom).
